Diario de Sevilla: The jury highlights the international prestige of the two architects.
The vital and professional journey without borders of Cruz Villalón and Ortiz García makes them worthy of an award that distinguishes personalities who spread the name of Seville.
Presided over by José Luis Ballester and made up of Concepción Yoldi, José Antonio Carrizosa, Francisco Rodríguez, José Aguilar and Ignacio Martínez, the jury – who held their meeting by videoconference on May 11 due to the state of alarm decreed by the Government – highlighted in the act by which Cruz Villalón and Ortiz García are awarded the IX Manuel Clavero Award that both professionals are “an extraordinary example of creativity and excellence in design and in all their artistic and professional activity”. The two architects, collects the result of the deliberation, “they also represent a magnificent and prolific generation of Sevillian architects”, so “they deservedly enter the gallery of illustrious Sevillians that recognizes the Manuel Clavero Prize”.
