Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos starts the construction of Dialogue, a 48,000 m² residential complex in Amsterdam

On Thursday 26 September 2024, construction officially began on Dialogue, a residential project in Amsterdam’s growing Overamstel district.The complex will consist of two towers, 50 and 70 metres high, connected by a 35-metresmid-rise structure. Dialogue will offer 430 flats, including free-standing,social and sheltered housing, on a total area of 48,000 m².
The architectural design by Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos has been conceived to maximize natural light and create spaces that favour social living among residents. Alarge central courtyard and several common areas will serve as a meeting points, while the project will integrate energy-efficient technologies and sustainable mobility solutions in line with the latest innovations in urban planning.
In addition to housing, Dialogue will include a 42-room residential care centre for people with dementia and a commercial area with shops, restaurants and offices. Promoted by Amvest and COD, the project is part of the urban transformation process in the south of Amsterdam, which is converting a former industrial area into an active residential area equipped with modern facilities.
The construction is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2027.
