Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos office visits La Cartuja Stadium works in Seville

On 28 March, the Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos office visited the remodelling works at La Cartuja Stadium in Seville, a project that is progressing steadily ahead of the Copa del Rey football final, to be held on 26 April between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
During the visit, it was possible to see the progress of a significant transformation that includes the removal of the athletics track and the creation of a new ring of stands, bringing the public closer to the playing field and increasing the stadium’s capacity to 71,374 spectators, the third largest in Spain.
It should be noted that, during the integral refurbishment of the Benito Villamarín Stadium, Real Betis Balompié Football Club will move its matches to La Cartuja, reinforcing the central role of this infrastructure in the Seville sporting panorama.
This intervention is part of the preparation of Seville as the venue for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Spain will co-host with Portugal and Morocco.
