The Grand Prize BigMat International Architecture Award, has been for the study Campo Baeza. The event was held on Friday 20 November at the Bolle Feställe in Berlin.
The jury was chaired by Jesús Aparicio and composed of Olivier Bastin (Belgium), Martin Rajnis (Czech Republic), Henri Ciriani (France), Francesco Dal Co (Italy), Manuel Aires Mateus (Portugal), Antonio Ortiz (Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos, Spain) and Jesús Donaire.
With these awards, this building materials center recognizes the work of those projects that extol the timeless values of architecture, are conceived under parameters of sustainability and are integrated within the native culture.
The Grand Prize was presented by the President of BigMat International, Claude Coutant. The ceremony took place during a gala dinner attended by 18 competing architecture studios, the jury and BigMat companies. It should be recalled that there was a list of 750 projects from the 6 European countries that competed and that, as in the previous edition, the jury has highlighted the excellent level of the same. The jury awarded the highest award to the Office Building designed by the Campo Baeza architecture studio in Zamora for “the correct attitude in solving a current program, which has wisely combined in the work contemporaneity with the respectful understanding of the existing … “. In addition to being able to integrate this modern building into an architectural environment with a sole, this project introduces a vision of the work space in which the comfort of its inhabitants is also one of the maxims of it.
In addition to the Grand Award, the call comprises other categories that select a winner within each participating country. On this occasion the chosen ones have been: – BigMat National Award ’15 Bégica to KAU Gymnasium, (KAU Gymnasium), Court Saint Etienne, Belgium, of URA Architects. – BigMat National Prize ’15 Czech Republic to Facilities for a Biotope, Honětice, Czech Republic of Prokš Přikryl architekti – BigMat National Prize ’15 France to The Ring of Remembrance, Notre- Dame de Lorette, France by Agence d’Architecture Philippe – National BigMat Award ’15 Italy to Pedevilla Pliscia 13, Enneberg, Italy by Pedevilla Architects. – BigMat National Award ’15 Portugal to Casa Da Severa, Lisbon, Portugal by José Adrião Arquitectos. Among the 18 finalists, a special Mention was given to Young Architects BigMat’15 to Dialogue Between Matiere et Paysage, Nozay, France, from a+ samueldelmas urban architects.
