La Cartuja enters the final stretch: the new pitch is ready

The transformation of Seville’s La Cartuja Stadium reaches a new milestone with the installation of the new pitch, a key step in the final stage of the first phase of renovations, which will conclude with the Copa del Rey final on April 26.
Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos has been in charge of adapting the stadium to FIFA standards for the 2030 World Cup, removing the athletics track, bringing the stands closer to the pitch, and expanding the capacity to over 70,000 spectators.
In addition, La Cartuja will serve as the temporary home stadium for Real Betis during the 2025 and 2026 seasons, while renovation works are carried out at the Benito Villamarín Stadium.
