Muriel Huisman (Cruz y Ortiz Amsterdam BV) revealed in a combined presentation with ARUP (Karsten Jurkait) and RIJKSMUSEUM (Tim Zeedijk) many hidden and secluded solutions for the integration of the climate in the Rijksmuseum. The non-narrative approach of the design, by looking for synergy between architecture, installations and constructions on the one hand and on the other the aim to go further with Cuypers, gives the Rijksmuseum a merged result, in which hardly any building component explains itself, but just exist. The slogan ‘eenvoud’ is generally considered as true for the final result. nevertheless the efforts to reach this ‘eenvoud’ were rather complicated. Therefore this lecture was received very positively by the around 80 attendees.
