Hotel and Art gallery in Stadionplein, Amsterdam

PROJECT REPORT

The new city plans current orientation is to reinforce the urban axis that leads to the stadium. This purpose is formalized in the proposal through a large cantilever that emphasizes the change that is intended. The proposal supports the urbanistic premises through the replica of the garden located in the square. This will be extended on the terrace of the building and in succession of  double height rooms to generate visuals that frame the gesture of reinforcing the axis. Two entities, Les Galleries and Ibis Styles, are juxtaposed in the building's program, which consider their neighbourhood as an opportunity for both. This circumstance favours the continuity of spaces where not only the reception area, but also the presence of contemporary art is responsible for underlining that continuity. The proposed solution is also included on the lower side. On the opposite sides ground floor, where the reception is located, with two porches free of supports, are the entrances to the hotel and the gallery complex.
