The unique triangular plot is located in an industrial area that is gradually being transformed into an urban residential and working area. The given triangle provides tools to build two towers at the extreme end of the plot. These towers are connected by stepped volumes that rest on an unambiguous plinth. This calligraphy of the building has been made readable by adding extra emphasis in materialization and facade layout. The distinctive building has a mixed program of housing, restaurants and cafes, retail, commercial functions and a guest house. The clear, legible plinth has its own materialization and is the robust basis of the building. This plinth is transparent and activates its environment. In the plinth there are two generous strategic openings that lead to the heart of the building, the public courtyard. This courtyard is raised and conceals the carefully fitted car and bicycle parking spaces. A wide staircase, one in the south and another one in the north, invites you to enter from the outside. A green slope, parallel to this staircase, connects the public green structures with the inner courtyard. The housing volume on the plinth has its own language of form and materialization. The light and reflective parts accentuate the horizontal lines and contour of the building. The vertical parts are slightly darker and set back in the facade, creating more contrast and depth. The reflective aluminium reacts to its context, this ensures that the building blends in with its surroundings. A colour is added to give the building its own identity and to strengthen the residential character. All window frames and balustrade have an olive yellow colour. This colour is subtle but clearly present and gives the building a warm glow.
