Banco Santander: Santander begins the urban development procedures for the Pereda and Hernán Cortés transformation project. Banco Santander executive chairman, Ana Botín, this morning presented the project for transforming the bank’s two most iconic buildings in the capital city of Cantabria: the building on Paseo de Pereda, which is the bank headquarters, and the building on Calle Hernán Cortés, to provide the city with modern spaces for culture, technology and entrepreneurship. Gema Igual, mayor of Santander, and Miguel Ángel Revilla, president of the region, also spoke during the event, along with David Chipperfield, Antonio Cruz and Antonio Ortiz, the architects responsible for remodelling the buildings.

The transformation work on the building on Calle Hernán Cortés will be done by Antonio Cruz and Antonio Ortiz. Their architecture firm was responsible for the restoration of the Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands, the railway stations in Basel and Seville and the design of the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium in Madrid.

Interior design of Ambassade Hotel public areas by Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos. This is a very elegant hotel inside of ten canal-side homes in Herengracht canal in Amsterdam. We have stayed in this hotel for so many years while the Rijksmuseum works and still love staying here when coming to work to our Amsterdam office.We are very satisfied with the final result, in which we have taken into account and designed even the very last detail. The Museo del Prado presents the eight finalist projects of the International Contest for the architectural restoration and museum adaptation of Salón de Reinos del Buen Retiro, including the winning proposal by Foster & Partners L.T.D – Rubio Architecture S.L.P.
The contest, published in the Official State Gazette on March 1, 2016, and whose duty was to choose the architecture team that would produce the restoration proposal of the Hall of Realms, was announced last November 22nd and the winning team was publicly presented on the 24th.

The finalist teams, whose proposals can be seen in the exhibition, are:

Green light to the first hotel of the Paseo de Colón (Seville), 4 star hotel in which Cruz and Ortiz architects will participate with the project of the comprehensive reform of two buildings located on the corner of Paseo de Colón with the calle Almansa. The beginning of work is scheduled for the month of September.

 Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos contributes to promote the Spain brand through its intervention in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, one of the projects selected in 2016 institutional video that shows projects of great depth for Spanish companies in the world.

The Ambassade Hotel in Amsterdam has been awarded by Tripadvisor’s travel portal with the Travelers Choice 2016.

Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos participated in the remodeling of the public areas of the hotel ending in 2015.
