We published a video on the elevation of the roof of the Olympic Stadium in London, like the covering of the new stadium of Atlético de Madrid though in the latter will introduce improvements not seen in any stadium in the world. In this video you can see the elevation of the center ring. Once arranged, the ring of traction cables in the center of the field extends radial cables on the bleachers of the stadium. These cables are supplemented with other hoists in order to extend their length and allow the central ring to rest on the playing field in a relaxed position.
Finally using hydraulic jacks pulls all the radial lifting cables are pulled together until the traction ring is suspended in its final position in the space on the playing field.
This is the procedure that you see in the video and that will be equal to the cover of the new stadium. The main difference is that our cover consists of two central traction rings, which means a greater complexity of lifting. First the upper central ring will be lifted, separation props will be placed with the lower one and finally pulled from the hoisting cables until both rings are brought to their final position at the same time.
This type of cover is an innovation, since an equal in the world has never been built. The system provides a greater slenderness to the set to decrease the height of the ring compression while maintaining the required slope of radial wires in the space.
